Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic continues to look increasingly likely to leave Old Trafford this summer and there are a number of clubs interested in signing him. The Serbia international star is currently in the final few months of his current contract and there are currently no signs forthcoming that he will be offered a new contract extension at the club. Talks over a new deal have not been activated and with Solksjær seemingly not interested in retaining the services of the former Chelsea midfielder, he could be exiting the Theater of Dreams.

Matic is not the only midfield star that has been linked with an Old Trafford exit, with Spanish star Juan Mata also set to be on the move away from the club at the end of the season. The 32-year-old is a transfer target for German Bundesliga club Frankfurt as the German outfit look to bolster their midfield department ahead of next season.

José Mourinho is also a fan of Matic and reportedly wants to reunite with the midfielder at AS Roma ahead of next season. The Portuguese manager was announced as the new manager at the Italian Serie A giants and will take charge of the club as from next season. He has already started lining up the players he would like to sign for the Italian giants and Matic is appearing at the top of that list.

Matic would also love a reunion with Mourinho having already worked with him both at Chelsea and Manchester United. Mourinho was responsible for the transfer of the midfielder from Chelsea to United after he was appointed in 2018 as the replacement of Louis Van Gaal following the former Netherlands national team manager’s sacking.

Matic could join Roma as a free agent next season if he does not sign a contract extension at Manchester United.
