ARENA JOINS

Kenny Arena has become a part of the coaching staff of his father Bruce Arena who is the manager of Los Angeles Galaxy at the moment.

Bruce announced the inclusion of his son in his coaching staff in a press conference yesterday.

Kenny had been in charge of the Florida International University team since the past couple of years and his record there was quite good. He had guided the Florida Panthers to as many as 14 wins in two seasons. He also has the experience of coaching in Galaxy Academy.

Kenny’s playing career was not that long. He started his senior career in 2003 and decided to hang his boots a couple of years later. He featured only for two clubs during his playing days

Kenny also played a bit of football at the international level.  He made a total of 24 appearances for the American U-20 side and managed to score 1 goal.

Announcing the inclusion of Kenny in his coaching staff, Bruce said, “I am glad to inform you all that Kenny is a part of our coaching staff now. Galaxy is not a new place for him. He has worked in the academy and is quite experienced in the development of the youngsters. Hopefully, we get benefitted by his experience.”

Lost Angeles Galaxy had performed decently enough in the Major League Soccer last season. Out of the 34 matches that they had played, they had won 15, had lost 11 and had shared points in 8 matches. They had finished just 4 points behind the Western Conference Table toppers Portland Timbers.

However, they couldn’t defend their MLS Cup crown and they would be disappointed about that.

It’s Sporting Kansas City which had won the MLS Cup last season.
